About

James Reith, Michelle Muldowney and Paddy Butler

From working with children and young teens for years, we have seen this sport transform them in both mind and body.  As well as developing fitness, flexibility, and strength, we have seen a timid child gain a voice, while a wild spirit, learns to control their aggression.

We are volunteer coaches, but no money could put a value on what we gain from seeing youngsters develop.

Of course, it takes time to progress in kickboxing and martial arts.  It takes dedication, discipline, hard work, and consistent commitment from both the children and the coaches.  We make sure that each young person receives reassuring guidance and encouragement in every little step.  Little fighters are made, we take pride in that, but they also learn which skills are just for the mat, they learn what to leave at the door when they go home.  But perhaps the most important and valuable lessons they receive are those they can take with them.  The ability to stand a little taller, the ability to present, with the correct posture and body language, the right message to any passing bully, the ability to feel competent and confident, and at the very same time, calm.  We could all do with some of that!

Here we are a family, this place is a haven for all, and it’s a place where a butterfly can powerfully fly.
