Every Saturday morning our kiddies kickboxing classes welcome children from six to sixteen to our new base at Kilkenny Combat Academy, Hebron Industrial Estate, Kilkenny.
All children are welcome – whatever the aims – whether to someday fight competitively, eventually become an instructor, or simply use it for fun and fitness.
Sessions are 11am for around an hour, from beginners to advanced. The first session is always free as we encourage children to give it a go. At 15 or 16, sometimes sooner, our juniors will start to transition over to adult classes.
Extra dedication is required to prepare any children who wish to compete in tournaments and while skills can be acquired, it is a strong heart and consistent commitment that will pull a fighter through the most gruelling training session or the last, toughest 20 seconds in any competitive fight. Therefore all fighters will be stress-tested before being put forward to compete.

FACTS
- When: Saturday Beginners & Intermediate: 11 am to noon; Advanced: 11.00 am to 12.30 pm
- Where: Kilkenny Combat Academy, Hebron Industrial Estate, Kilkenny (on the left of the turn-off for the Post Office)
- Who: 6 to 16-year-olds – exceptions can be made
- Why: Learn to kickbox and compete, instruct or just for fun & fitness

- Gradings: Twice per year – usually Easter & Halloween or Summer & Christmas, with 1-2 weeks’ notice of eligibility
- Fees: First session free. Euros 20 per month. Annual insurance membership Euro 20.
